Our history
From pioneer to expert
When Marianne and Gösta Hallén started a business as a freight forwarder in 1965, it was on a modest scale, but with a clear vision. Halléns aimed to become a pioneer within the industry, an approach that continues to permeate the company today. The advent of RoRo vessels in the 1960s meant large quantities of cargo being handled in Swedish ports. Gösta saw an opportunity to contribute to this industry development with a brand new service: unit loads.
Over the years, the business expanded, and, in addition to the offices, warehouse and service station at Hisingen in Gothenburg, it also established itself in Stenungsund, with the aim of providing a better service to customers in the petrochemical industry. The company is certified in accordance with ISO 9001 quality standard and the ISO 14001 environmental standard. The offices are SQAS approved and, in 2013, Halléns was awarded the Borealis Lifetime Achievement Award. We hold an AEO licence.
